A double-click will open the current contents for changes. A tab will appear in the lower-right corner that is dragged to expand the editor for multi-step formula and setting the overlap priority. The open_with icon is dragged to reposition the editor.

In the lower details section of the UI a tab with the icon is available for formula edits and drill-down. This tab has a number of formatting tools.
