What is a '
CellSpace
'?
A
CellSpace
is a distributed workspace in which collaborators can build, update and review a dynamic model of an enterprise.
  • A model is made up of any number of OLAP style hyper-cubes, sheets, variables, database queries and other constructs composed of interconnected cells. These cells update in real-time as changes are made to the model and databases.
  • The model is housed in , running on top of databases.
  • A
    CellSpace
can stand alone or be interconnected with many with the CellSpace/Enterprise product.
  • A
    CellSpace
scales to the needs of an enterprise with three levels of products. These are the CellSpace/Lite, CellSpace/Team and CellSpace/Enterprise offerings.
  • Individual take advantage of the latest multi-core servers as well run comfortably on more modest hardware.
  • The
    CellSpace
    Server
    user interface
uses modern browser technology to provide a rich user interface on the desk tops of modelers and reviewers alike.
  • Because the
    CellSpace
    Server
    user interface
is browser-based, many users can access the
    CellSpace
    at the same time.
  • With CellSpace/Enterprise, a
    CellSpace
can be distributed amongst a number of to decompose the model into data silos and other logical parts.
  • Linking cells across is just a matter of a click gesture. The linked cell could be within the or anywhere across the LAN or WAN.
  • This approach encourages a modular design that is logically decomposed into meaningful parts rather than the complexity that ensues with traditional, monolithic spreadsheets.
  • A
    CellSpace
is not a mechanism for sharing static, isolated,
    traditional spreadsheet
    files.
  • A
    CellSpace
is a live, modular, interconnected view of a enterprise.
