Configure
Home
DataSource
With the CellSpace/Enterprise product, the
security
Configure
Home
DataSource
procedure
is used by an
installer
to prepare the
home
datasource
for use.
It is assumed that a
database
server has been installed and a
database
catalog
has been added to that
database
. The
home
datasource
database
catalog
can be the same
database
catalog
used to configure the
primary
datasource
.
Some consideration is required to determine if more than one
CellSpace
Server
will share a
home
database
and thus participate in a single
security realm
. See
Before You Begin CellSpace/Enterprise Online Installation
.
The
installer
should determine the
JDBC
URL
necessary to connect to the target
database
during normal operation. This
JDBC
URL
may be the same as the
home
datasource
configurations for the other
CellSpace
Servers
that share a
security realm
.
Database
credentials will be required. These credentials will be stored securely and used to connect to the target
database
during normal operation.
One set of credentials can be used. A
home
datasource
creates and indexes all of the tables it requires during installation and does not otherwise create additional tables during normal operation.
During this
procedure
the
installer
supplies
administrator
user
account
credentials. These credentials can be for an existing
administrator
user
account
in the
security realm
. A new
administrator
user
account
will be created if one doesn't already exist in a previously configured
Home Server
.
A
home
datasource
configuration can be changed later with the
security

Configuration
procedure
.

warning
The
installer
should take care with the
administrator
user
account
credentials as they are not easily recovered.
Once installed, additional
administrator
user
accounts
can be created by an
administrator
.
This is a recommended practice to ensure access to the
CellSpace
Server
if one set of
administrator
credentials are lost or forgotten.
